Rinse TRS Masoor Dal thoroughly under cold running water until the water runs clear. No soaking is required. Add to a pot with approximately 2.5 times the volume of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the lentils are completely soft and have broken down into a smooth, thick consistency. Season with salt.
Cook rinsed lentils with water, turmeric, and salt until soft. In a separate pan (the tadka), heat ghee or oil and add cumin seeds, dried red chillies, and finely sliced garlic — fry until golden and fragrant. Add chopped onion and cook until soft, then stir in tomatoes, coriander powder, and garam masala. Pour the hot tadka over the cooked dal and stir through. Garnish with fresh coriander and a squeeze of lemon. Serve with basmati rice or roti.
Sauté onion, garlic, and ginger in olive oil until soft. Add cumin, smoked paprika, turmeric, and chopped tomatoes and cook for 2–3 minutes. Add rinsed TRS Masoor Dal and vegetable stock (approximately 1 litre per 200g of lentils). Simmer for 20–25 minutes until completely soft. Blend partially or fully for a smooth, creamy soup. Finish with lemon juice and fresh coriander. A nourishing, protein-rich meal in under 30 minutes.
Cook TRS Masoor Dal (Red Lentils) until just tender but still holding their shape (reduce cooking time slightly). Layer with cooked rice, macaroni, and crispy fried onions. Top with a spiced tomato sauce and a sharp vinegar-garlic dressing for an authentic Egyptian street food experience.
Cook rinsed lentils in a mixture of water and coconut milk (1:1 ratio) with turmeric and salt until completely soft. In a pan, fry mustard seeds, curry leaves, dried chilli, and onion in coconut oil until golden. Stir into the lentils along with fresh ginger and lime juice. A rich, creamy South Indian-inspired dal that pairs beautifully with steamed rice or flatbread.
Store TRS Masoor Dal (Red Lentils) 500g in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight. Dried lentils keep well for up to 12 months when stored correctly. Cooked lentils can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
